RESET by Ingrid Buchwald. Galería Formato Cómodo.
Ingrid Buchwald (Tolosa, 1980) presents her first solo exhibition at Galería Formato Cómodo (Calle Lope de Vega, 9). Bachelor of Fine Arts by Universidad del País Vasco and the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee, her pieces have been part of video cycles in institutions such as the Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Vigo, the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, La Casa Encendida or the Reina Sofia Museum, and the Foro Sur art fairs, MACO and ARCO. She has been the resident artist at the Real Academia de España in Rome and the Colegio de España in Paris. She currently has the pleasure of working in a workshop granted to her in Arteleku, Donostia.
The RESET exhibition poses the idea of a reboot of the system in general terms, through a series of video animations based on home videos from YouTube. They are short pieces that represent the demolition of silos (structures designed to store grain and other materials) that allow multiple interpretations regarding the construction and demolition of a building, a memory, a file, an economic model, a political system or a piece of art.
